The scene at Yogi Berra Stadium was bustling, as the stadium was filled for Camp Day. However the weather did not cooperate with the children's hopes of seeing a baseball game. Instead they just got soaking wet, with rain water, and disappointment. For the Write on Sports camp, it was a different story. They enjoyed a pre-game interview with Manager Joe Calfapietra, Hitting Coach Eddie Gerald, and First Base Coach Ani Ramos. Manager Joe Calfapietra said that hes pitching staff needs to get ahead in the count and allow less hits. Because of the New Jersey Jackals lack of pitching success they are currently 17-26 and 14 games out of first place. Their record has put them in fourth place out of six teams in the league. They also need to get better at the plate. "We need to get better 1-9. If only 1 or 2 guys are hitting it is hard to score runs," Eddie Gerald.
This proves that the Jackals need to get better all around to be on top again.

Is the Red Bulls Stadium in the Wrong Place
The Red Bulls have made a recent transition to their new stadium in Harrison New Jersey. Their old home, Giants Stadium, has been imploded to make room for the new shopping mall they are going to put into place. The new home has impacted the Red Bulls tremendously for they have gone from finishing in last place in the previous season to being in second place halfway through this years campaign. However, the new home may negatively impact traffic in the Suburban Essex area, specifically in Harrison and Newark. The Harrison-Newark area is filled with many attractions that will cause major traffic jams. They are the Newark Museum, Riverfront Stadium, NJPAC, Newark Airport, Branch Brook Park, Prudential Center and the newly addled Red Bulls Stadium. And with only one highway, Route 280, and the PATH station nearby traffic will be on a stand still. Therefore, I feel that the stadium should not be in the busting Newark area. The new stadium should have been built in the Meadowlands, especially considering the fact that there would be space after they tore down Giants Stadium. Hey maybe the other team will get stuck in traffic on the way to the stadium and will have to forfeit.

Jenny Vrenas
It is interesting how the sports writers that have come in the past two days were not originally going to be sports writers. Dave Skretta did not really know what he wanted to do but his future wife brought him to sports journalism. With Jenny Vrenas, she got interested in sports writing by joining the Penn State newspaper. They both now enjoy covering New York sports. It is interesting how she went from biochemistry to sports writing.
Bruce Harper
Bruce Harper always enjoyed football. But he always remember that there is no I in TEAM and u and I in UNITY. He said,"I don't care how good you are you can't win by yourself." Also he said," Teammates are like family, you go out to dinner when you win, and cry together when you lose." He always remembers that you can't win a Super Bowl with one person. This is important that your teammates like you. This lesson should be taught to current NFL players like TO and Albert Haynesworth. With Bruce Harper's knowledge of team he said,"A team with mediocre players that play as a team will get farther than a team with lone wolf superstars." Bruce Harper's knowledge of football make him qualify to be a coach.
