The scene at Yogi Berra Stadium was bustling, as the stadium was filled for Camp Day. However the weather did not cooperate with the children's hopes of seeing a baseball game. Instead they just got soaking wet, with rain water, and disappointment. For the Write on Sports camp, it was a different story. They enjoyed a pre-game interview with Manager Joe Calfapietra, Hitting Coach Eddie Gerald, and First Base Coach Ani Ramos. Manager Joe Calfapietra said that hes pitching staff needs to get ahead in the count and allow less hits. Because of the New Jersey Jackals lack of pitching success they are currently 17-26 and 14 games out of first place. Their record has put them in fourth place out of six teams in the league. They also need to get better at the plate. "We need to get better 1-9. If only 1 or 2 guys are hitting it is hard to score runs," Eddie Gerald.
This proves that the Jackals need to get better all around to be on top again.
